OUR STORY

Major Playz Sports Betting all began with an idea, like all businesses. That idea started at the desk of my 8-5 job…..

But first I’m going to go way back here for some context. My dad had a local bookie when I was a kid and won consistently betting on the NFL & NHL. We watched sports together almost every night. Sports have always been a huge part of my life. He showed me the ropes and showed me how you can make money predicting the outcomes of games. I thought it was awesome but obviously I had to wait until I was 21 to start gambling on sports myself. Once I was, I set up a Bovada account and started sports gambling. At the time it was just a hobby, but nonetheless I was winning. This is when I introduced Lapaps into the game.

Ever since I introduced him to sports gambling, it was something we bonded over. Lapaps and I would call each other nightly to discuss fantasy, DFS, and sides/totals of games. He was really big into DFS since it was the only legal option we could do here in Chicago back then. I was always more of a game by game guy. Looking back, those phone calls, on top of being great friends since highschool, are the foundation of our partnership. For years we were working towards this without even knowing.

Now let’s fast forward back to the birth of this idea and me sitting in my 8-5 job. Every day I would watch the great Jimmy the Bag, and loved his daily sports betting content. I always felt like I could do something similar but with a different flare to it. I have always had a passion for content creation and really grew into the ability to entertain people. I love that about myself, and thought why not start up a sports betting brand, YouTube channel, and start creating content with the knowledge I have about sports. I felt I could really help people win money like I was. At the time, sports gambling was just starting to become legal in some states so what better time to start this? It was certainly time to start putting myself in a position to live out my passion and do what I love everyday. This idea is all about living the lifestyle you want to live.

So that day at my desk, I came up with the name and created all of the social media accounts for the brand. That night I was going to the Chicago Bulls game with Lapaps. While were were there I ran the entire idea by him and he absolutely loved it. The way we speak, our originality, our passions, and all of that on top of winning picks? How could we not make our mark on this industry? We both then decided that if we learn how to handicap properly and take this serious, we can use our knowledge to help others win like we were!

Fast forward just one last time to you reading our story right now on our website. It’s crazy to think that in November 2020 we started creating NFL content and since then we have been able to accomplish so much. Our following has grown on social media, we have been introduced to so many great people in this space, and have now decided to make this our full-time gig. We have come a long way but still feel like we haven’t even started yet. We can not be more excited for what’s to come and for you to come along this journey with us!
